24 Hour Service - Water Scenario
It’s the beginning of the year and snow is falling. You’ve just arrived home from work and shuffling your kids back and forth from practices. You’re trying to figure out what to do for dinner, even though it is already coming up on 7:30 at night. You open the door to your house, kick off your shoes, and suddenly you hear it. A sound like a garden water fountain, and it’s coming from your unfinished basement.
You rush down the stairs barefoot and by the time you reach the bottom of the steps, you’re standing in an inch of water. How did it happen? What is the source? You walk carefully through the water, which by this point is nearly freezing, and you see that in the corner of the basement, you have a burst water pipe. Seems like the cold didn’t agree with the old pipes and now you have a small pond still forming in your basement!
You know what to do next. You make your way to the main water shutoff, and you turn it off to stop the source from pouring out any more water. You go back upstairs and realize that there’s no way for you to get all of that water out of the basement on your own. Even if you could, you don’t have the equipment to dry it out quickly enough to avoid mold growth. You get on your phone and realize that by now it is 8:00 at night. What are you going to do? Who are you going to call?
