Pet-Friendly Flooring

10/7/2020 (Permalink)

Your local SERVPRO® knows that you love your furry friends, but not their messes or their... odor. The good news is that we are here to help with the removal of pet stains and odors from your carpet and other floorings. However, there are steps you can take to help avoid the stains and odors before you even need to call us. One of those steps is picking flooring that can withstand pet messes. Here are three types that could be beneficial to you.

Anything Waterproof

  • Waterproof or water-resistance flooring is a good idea for any pet-home. Whether moisture comes from pet accidents or from spilled water bowls, it can be damaging to wood or carpeted floors luckily there are waterproof/water resistant options for most types of flooring; including carpet, vinyl, laminate, and porcelain tile.

Cork Flooring

  • This type of flooring is another water-resistant option. This option is also antimicrobial, which means it less likely to develop bacterial growth, mold, or other harmful allergens after pet accidents or flooding. Not to mention this flooring is also sound-absorbing and scratch resistant as well.

Luxury Vinyl Flooring

  • This type of flooring is durable and is easy to maintain. It’s a bit more affordable than some other types of pet-friendly flooring. This is likely the best option for most pet owners.

We hope that these options are a good way for you to prevent serious pet damage to your floors. Just remember, if you need us for a general clean, carpet clean, or odor removal, we are Here to Help®!
