Commercial Kitchens - Cleaning Tips
Kitchens certainly need to be clean, and this is even more of a necessity in commercial kitchens for restaurants, schools, and more. So we wanted to share some cleaning tips for these large food prep areas!
- Make sure countertops are sanitized after use. Sanitizing counters can prevent the spreading of germs. It keeps food prep safe and helps to prevent cross-contamination of bacteria or allergens that could endanger the health of any customers. It also can keep the area clear of messes and of hazards.
Appliances/Equipment (Including Refrigerators/Freezers)
- Cleaning your appliances and equipment can keep them running for longer and more efficiently. It is important to make sure that all of the parts are in working order. It can also help with safety for the staff that uses the equipment. If the fridge is not working properly, it can lead to the development of mold and other bacteria. Make sure that the fridge (and freezer) are working properly and that they are constantly clean.
- Make sure that trash cans are taken out daily or as needed. Also, make sure that you clean out the bins to prevent odors from building up and mold from forming.
- Keep floors clean both in high traffic areas and underneath appliances that can be moved for cleaning. This helps to avoid mold growth and helps to prevent slip and trip hazards.
