IICRC Courses - Training SERVPRO Heroes

10/27/2021 (Permalink)

We recently had our last IICRC Technical Training Classes of the year. It was a good year for the classes. After everything came to a halt for everyone in 2020, our 2021 classes had a great attendance rate and a nice mix of new SERVPRO® team members and seasoned SERVPRO® Heroes. From water restoration classes to trauma and bio cleanup classes, we were able to host a variety of great courses this year, and we can’t wait to do it again next year.

But what is it about these classes that are so important?

When we gain new team members, there is of course a great amount of training that goes into training them so that they are prepared for the work that they’ll experience. However, there are some things that are better learned when you have an instructor come in and focus hard on the specifics of the processes and the standards of our industry.

Take the WRT/ASD Classes that focus on water restoration and structural drying. The classes not only teach the attendants from the industry-standard textbook but they are also given the chance to get hands-on experience in our flood house. Our flood house is a great tool that gives the techs a chance to see exactly what kind of damage they could see on the job. They are then able to practically use the information they’re learning in the class to restore the water damage in the house. We find that this is the best way to completely prepare our technicians for the job, giving them the skills and the knowledge to do the best they can on the job.

So if you are or you know a SERVPRO® technician that would benefit from attending these classes, please contact our office at the end of this year/beginning of next year and ask about which classes we’ll be offering next year. We look forward to hosting the classes again.

If you’re a current or future SERVPRO® customer, you can rest easy knowing that our team is highly trained and happy to be Here to Help®!
